Hi! I’m Mariarosaria Di Bagno, an MSc Double Degree student in European & International Public Policy and Politics at Bocconi University and The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE).
I graduated from John Cabot University with magna cum laude with a BA in International Affairs and minors in Economics and Legal Studies. My interests lie at the intersection of climate policy, political economy, comparative politics, and finance, with a particular focus on the green transition.
I am interested in understanding how political institutions, economic structures, and financial systems shape countries’ responses to climate change. In particular, I explore why climate and energy policies differ across political systems, how governments balance environmental and economic priorities, and how public and private finance can support the transition towards low-carbon economies.
Alongside these interests, I am passionate about quantitative and geospatial analysis, causal inference, and evidence-based policymaking. I use tools such as R, Stata, and QGIS to identify patterns, evaluate policies, and translate complex evidence into clear and actionable insights.
Beyond the classroom, my experience coordinating diplomacy initiatives and collaborating with international institutions and embassies has strengthened my interest in international cooperation and public decision-making. Looking ahead, I hope to contribute to research and policy projects that combine analytical rigour, institutional understanding, and meaningful public impact.
